Everything Haul does
For Windows and Mac. Free is in Haul Free, with no time limit. Pro is in Haul Pro, $12.99 once, and every new computer tries it free for 7 days.
Downloading
The engine at the heart of Haul, written in native code.
Up to 32 connections per file
ProUp to 4 in Free
Haul starts with one connection and adds more while every one of them is receiving, with limits per server.
Any number at once
Pro3 at once in Free
Run as many downloads side by side as your line can take.
Resume after anything
Free
A dropped line, a sleeping computer or a restart. If the file changed on the server, Haul starts over instead of splicing two versions.
HTTP, HTTPS and FTP
Free
With redirects, retries that respect a busy server, Basic and Digest logins, and cookies and referrers from your browser.
Speed limiter
Free
One limit for everything or one per file, plus a data quota, so calls and browsing keep their share.
Refresh an expired address
Free
When a link runs out, give the download a new address and it keeps its progress.
Categories
Free
Files sort themselves into General, Compressed, Documents, Music, Programs and Video, each with its own folder.
Links from anywhere
Free
Copy a link, drag it onto the window, or add every link in a text, HTML, PDF, Word or Excel file. IDM's .ef2 lists come in too.
Command line and haul:// links
Free
Start downloads from a script with --add URL, or the classic /d URL /p folder /f name.
The built-in player
Play while it downloads, on any video or music download you're allowed to make.
Play while it downloads
FreeSite videos and streams: Pro
It starts as soon as enough has arrived. Jump anywhere and Haul fetches that part first, while the rest keeps coming in.
MKV, MP4, AVI, WMV, TS and more
Free
FLV, MPEG, MOV, WebM and music files too, playing or finished.
Dolby Vision, HDR and SDR
Free
It uses your computer's own video hardware, so a film plays on very little power. How HDR looks depends on your screen and hardware.
Switch audio and subtitle tracks
Free
Change language at any moment, by name and flag, and search long lists. Haul remembers your choices for the next film. Text subtitles; those stored as pictures aren't shown yet.
Picks up where you left off
Free
Each film remembers its place, even when you download it again. Haul also remembers your volume and text size.
Your own player, if you prefer
Free
Open in… sends the download to another player, also while it's still downloading. Speeds from 0.5× to 2×, keyboard keys, and keep on top.
Video and streams
Haul Pro saves what a page plays, as one file you can keep.
Videos from sites
Pro
Paste a page's address or click Download video on the player. YouTube, Vimeo, X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch, Reddit, Dailymotion, Bilibili, SoundCloud, Streamable and others yt-dlp supports.
HLS and DASH streams
Pro
Haul finds them on the page, lists each quality and fetches the pieces in parallel, with resume.
Picture and sound as one file
Pro
Every quality the site offers, up to 4K, joined into one file, or only the sound as M4A. yt-dlp and ffmpeg come with Haul.
yt-dlp kept up to date
Pro
Sites change often. Haul updates its copy of yt-dlp for you.
Photos from X posts
Free
Save a post's photos in original quality, one or all at once.
WeTransfer files and links
Free
Paste a WeTransfer or we.tl link and Haul downloads the transfer like any other file.
Plays fair
Free
Encrypted and DRM-protected streams and videos are refused, on every plan.
In your browser
Haul Browser Integration hands your downloads to Haul.
Nine browsers
Free
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc and Helium from the Chrome Web Store, Firefox from Firefox Add-ons, and Safari with Haul for Mac.
Takes over downloads
Free
By file type, with the cookies that keep you signed in. Hold Alt to let the browser keep one, and exclude sites or small files.
Safari on Mac
Free
The extension comes inside Haul for Mac: turn it on in Safari's settings, on Safari 18.4 or newer. It catches clicks on links, as Safari gives extensions no downloads to take over.
Right-click menus
Free
Send a link, a video, a selection or every link on the page to Haul.
A Download video button
Free
A small button on playing videos, which you can hide per site. It offers site videos and streams, which need Haul Pro.
A popup for this site
Free
Turn catching off for one site, see the media a page plays, and move a download the browser already started over to Haul (not in Safari).
Queues and automation
Let Haul work while you don't.
Main queue
Free
Line downloads up and start or stop them together.
Queues of your own
Pro
With their own files at once, retries and a coloured name in the list. A synchronization queue runs again on a timer.
Scheduler
Pro
Start and stop times, once or on chosen weekdays, repeating every few minutes. On Windows it can wake the computer to start.
When-done actions
Pro
Shut down, sleep or hibernate (hibernate on Windows), with a countdown you can cancel. Closing Haul when done is free.
Site Grabber
Pro
Crawl a site and collect every file that matches your rules, saved as a project you can run again.
Batch downloads
Pro
Fill in a numbered or lettered range of addresses, with a preview before you add them.
Network and safety
Works on your network, and leaves your files where you expect them.
System proxy
Free
Haul follows your computer's proxy settings out of the box.
Proxy servers and PAC scripts
Pro
HTTP and HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 with remote DNS, a bypass list and PAC scripts. FTP goes through them too.
Site logins
Free
Passwords live in the macOS Keychain or the Windows Credential Manager, never in Haul's own files.
Your virus scanner
Free
Check every finished file with a scanner, with presets for Defender, ClamAV and ESET.
Signed updates
Free
Haul checks the signature, restarts, and running downloads carry on in the new version.
Backups
Free
A daily copy of your download list, and your settings to export and import.
